Dr. Ann graduated with honors from the Chicago National College of Naprapathy in 1997 and has been a licensed  Naprapath with a successful practice in Springfield, IL for over 25 years.

Ann's respect for natural medicine began early in life. Growing up on a farm, she observed the effectiveness of supporting the innate healing processes in both animals and humans.

She feels strongly

that ALL modalities of medicine are vitally important, and just like tools, we need the right tool for the job. Manual medicine has proven to be one of the "right tools" for addressing musculoskeletal issues.

Dr. Ann is dedicated to helping her  patients reduce their pain and improve quality of life and overall health and wellness as expediently as possible. She uses gentle manual techniques to address connective tissue contractures, musculoskeletal imbalances, compression, impingements, restrictions

and dysfunction. She teaches individually tailored therapeutic stretches and exercises to empower her patients in self-care pain management. She also offers dietary and nutritional recommendations to enhance the healing process. By addressing both the grand-scale physical issues, as well as the cellular level metabolic issues, the human body can be redirected toward balance and optimal function.

She is a member of the Illinois Naprapathic Association, the American Naprapathic Association, and formerly served as vice-chairman of the board of the National College of Naprapathic Medicine in Chicago, IL.

Out of the office, Ann's lifelong interest is traditional folk, bluegrass and old-time music. She sings and plays acoustic guitar, upright bass, and clawhammer banjo. She performs locally with The Burr Oak String Band. She travels to enjoy time with family and play music with friends. As a forever student, she loves to research, read, and learn new ways to help others, as well as enhance her own health and wellness in mind, body, and spirit.

Donna Steinberg is the warm smiling face that greets you when you enter our Center. She has been involved in the natural health industry for her entire life. Raised working in her family’s natural food store in St. Louis, she had an early education in health & wellness. She and her husband continued on this path by running another health food store in Chicago. She has an extensive history working with supplements and natural healing modalities. You might say it’s in her blood.

Her passion for health and natural medicine, combined with her deep caring for people makes working in the Naprapathic clinic with Dr. Ann Bova a very good fit. She is able to spend quality time answering questions and helping patients understand the role supplements may play in achieving their health goals. She has been with the clinic for nearly 10 years as the office manager and personal assistant to Dr. Ann. She is undoubtedly the oil that keeps the Heartland Center running smoothly.

Donna is a quintessential people person, and truly enjoys interacting with our patients as well as the clients of all the other practitioners at the Center. Her level of caring for others is only outdone by her kind, sweet nature. Dr. Ann says Donna has a heart as big as Texas. No one could possibly argue with that.

Her sweet dog, Jazzy, was rescued from Puerto Rico in 2019 and has been the office therapy dog ever since. Jazzy takes her job very seriously and brings comfort and compassionate interaction to many who come early to their appointments just to spend a little time with her. She loves treats, the FedEx and UPS drivers, and chasing a tennis ball.
